IndiGo starts Bhubaneswar-Dubai international flight service

India’s leading carrier IndiGo has started its international flight service between Bhubaneswar and Dubai on May 15.

Inaugural direct flight between Dubai-Bhubaneswar has taken off which is fully sponsored by Odisha Government. Direct flight service by IndiGo to Dubai, one of the biggest travel hubs, will open the world for the people of Odisha, giving a boost to investment, trade & tourism, Odisha Chief Minister’s office said in a tweet.

Odisha is the first state in India to support international air connectivity in the interest of people. Connectivity to Dubai will open a gateway to the Gulf & Western countries, offering seamless & economic travel option to Odia people working in these regions, the tweet added.

IndiGo will operate the service thrice a week — Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Inaugural ticket prices were pegged at Rs 10,000 (one way) and Rs 20,000 for a round trip.

With its fleet of 280+ aircraft, the airline is operating around 1,200 daily flights and connecting 66 domestic destinations and 24 international destinations.

The first eight tickets were distributed by the CM to Mission Shakti women, athletes, tribal leaders, and artists.

After the flight service to Dubai, more international flights to Singapore and Bangkok from Bhubaneswar will also commence soon.
