Odisha govt’s business through women SHGs reaches Rs 3,584 crore


Odisha government’s business through Women Self Help Groups has reached Rs 3,583.84 crore in just two years.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had earlier directed to channelise government business of Rs 5,000 crore through WSHGs in 5 years time.

However, Mission Shakti has recorded an achievement of 71.67% of the target in first 2 years.

Chairing a high level meeting Chief Secretary S C Mahapatra directed to explore new areas of partnership with WSHGs involving more number of groups. He directed to explore new projects in micro food processing, primary healthcare, pisciculture in GP tanks & poultry etc.

A Mission Shakti Bazar would be set up in the SIRD Campus, Bhubaneswar with its opening to the road side to create a year round sales point for WSHG products.

Chief Secretary directed to explore the possibilities of opening more such counters at other conspicuous places.
