Odisha likely to get Covid-19 vaccine by end of January

Covid-19 vaccine will likely be available in Odisha by the end of this month, Health & Family Welfare Minister Naba Das said January 4.

As per the guidelines, frontline workers including doctors will get the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine, Das told reporters.

Drugs Controller General of India approved Covid-19 virus vaccines of Serum Institute of India and Bharat Biotech for restricted use in emergency situation on January 3.

Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has developed the Co-WIN software for real time information of vaccine stocks, their storage temperature and individualized tracking of beneficiaries for Covid-19 vaccine.  This software will assist the program managers across all levels through automated session allocation for pre-registered beneficiaries, their verification and a digital certificate will be generated upon successful completion of the vaccine schedule.
