Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today discussed with Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari, Oil Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and several other Union ministers regarding the conversion of 300 km Paradip-Barbil road into eight lanes integrated economic corridor consisting six stretches.
The highway will improve the transportation of iron ore from the steel mines in Keonjhar district to the port town of Paradip.
This project will play a key role in the development of Kalinga Nagar steel cluster as well as Chandikhol area, Oil Minister Pradhan said.
Chief Minister Patnaik also proposed 300 Km Digha-Satpada coastal Highways and early solution to various issues relating to this project. The issues of ports connectivity including Gopalpur, Subarnarekha, Astharang, Paradip and Dhamara were discussed.
Among other issues, Ampani-Jaeypore Road which is a part of Biju Express Way, Bhubaneswar-Puri Express Way and Raipur-Visakhapatnam Road were also discussed.
