RTOs in Odisha to go cashless from January 11 for vehicle related services

Regional Transport Offices in Odisha will stop accepting cash for vehicle related services from January 11 as part of the 5T initiative, the State Transport Authority (STA) said in a notification.

“As a part of 5T initiative of state government to improve the user experience, it is decided that all transactions relating to Government revenue and service charges of concessionaire in VAHAN portal for vehicle related services will be made in Online and URL mode only w.e.f. 11.01.2021 and no cash will be accepted at RTO counters for vehicle related services at all RTOs of the State,” the notification said.

The notification added that vehicle owners can avail all the vehicle related services like pay the tax, fee, upload document, apply and take printout of permits, fitness and tax/fee receipts online by visiting https://parivahan.gov.in.

This will help in reducing long queues in RTO office counters for making payments and will result in improved user satisfaction, it said.

Vehicle users are already making payment related to driving license services in SARATHI portal in online mode since March 16, 2020.
