SpiceJet will launch flights from Veer Surendra Sai Airport, Jharsuguda in western Odisha to Mumbai and Bengaluru from January 12.
“This is expected to boost the economy of western Odisha and help fulfilling aspirations of people of the region,” Usha Padhee, joint secretary in the Ministry of Civil Aviation said in a tweet from her verified twitter handle.
The flight service between Jharsuguda, Mumbai and Bangalore will be available for 4 days in a week.
In 2019, SpiceJet started its flight operations from Jharsuguda to Delhi, Hyderabad and Kolkata as part of the Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik (UDAN) scheme.
